Self-Sufficient
Plato viewed humans as social beings and didnt think that we could really be "self-sufficient." I dont agree with this because socially, we are social beings, but, we can be self-sufficient.There are so many single people who not only live by themselves but do take care of their families. Granted, they probably do have support from their friends. Then when it comes down to it all, they are the ones who are making the money, paying the bills, putting their kids through school, and still having a social life. The only time it becomes so they arent self-sufficient is when they become married then the income is increased and it proves Plato correct. But until then no one else helps that single mother or father. All they can do is work and hope that they are doing everything right and everything in their power, by them selves, to support their family. Plato is right that without the social aspect no one can live or grow but people can be both self-sufficient and but still be social.
